our promise

We know that you have many options for the care of your pet, but none deliver the amazing results that you will see with OC Pup Scouts. Our adventures provide structure and positive reinforcement in a pack environment, allowing your dog to learn and form positive relationships with our staff and other pups.

Our Team

OC Pup Scouts' selective hiring process and intensive staff training program ensure that your dog is given the best possible care and attention, and your dog will feel comfortable and excited to see the familiar faces picking them up each day.

Our process

Nothing is more important to us than the health and safety of your dog. Before joining OC Pup Scouts, each new dog meets with our team to make sure that they will be a good fit for the pack and that all of their health records are up to date.

Michael BasS

Owner & Chief of Dog Morale

Michael, a University of Maryland graduate (Go Terps) born and raised in Baltimore, left the East Coast for sunshine and dogs in 2014. His huge heart for dogs led him to create OC Pup Scouts after seeing the need for a trustworthy and personalized pack dog walking service in Orange County. He enjoys paddle boarding with his dog Camden and spending time with his wife, Mrs. Pup Scout and baby boy Julian. His ideal adventure would be taking his Jeep somewhere remote for a camping weekend!

Chief Operating Officer

Colleen has been a part of Pup Scouts since the beginning - it's even rumored that she came up with the name for the business after a few rounds of sake in 2015. She loves the sense of community that has developed over the years between the OC Pup Scouts staff and pup parents. Her favorite part is when she meets a Pup Scout in the wild, recognizing the dog from Instagram or spotting a client in Pup Scouts merch! In her free time, Colleen loves visiting beaches around Orange County with Michael and their son Julian!

Scout Obedience Trainer & Head Pack Leader

Born and raised in Orange County, Hayley joined Pup Scouts in May of 2020 and quickly moved up in the ranks, becoming our Team Manager. Now, acting as our Head Pack Leader and Scout Obedience Trainer, she focuses on providing our Pack Leaders with the tools to succeed, always accompanied by her black lab, Mav.

Hayley is a relationship-based trainer and has passed the Training Without Conflict Professional Trainers Certification; training under the prestigious Ivan Balabanov. Hayley likes to utilize a lot of play in her training to build a bond with the dogs she works with and finds that structured play can help teach key concepts utilized in formal training. Hayley’s methods are backed by science and copious amounts of research and utilize clear communication methods that aid in the dog’s learning.

South County Manager

A SoCal Local, Hope grew up in the City of Orange and found her way to San Clemente 4 years ago after she met her now husband. Growing up Hope was the neighborhood dog sitter from the time she turned 10! She decided to leave her long time career in fitness management and joined our team in September 2020. Her favorite part about working for Pup Scouts is the transformation she sees in each of our pups! You can find Hope, her husband Mike and their dog Dezy paddle boarding, hiking, or spending a lazy day at the beach. One of Hope's bucket list items is to have a house full of dogs because they bring so much joy and laughter into her life.

Territory Manager

Born and raised in Costa Mesa, Logan has never known life without a family dog. Ranging from Golden Retrievers, to Collies, and even a Corgi! He grew up with such a fondness for dogs, that he enjoyed reading dog encyclopedias in his spare time. Graduating from the University of Oregon in 2015, he returned back to his hometown with his Golden Retriever, Cooper. Logan’s passion shows in his walks every day, and he strives to bring each dog as much joy as they bring him.

Pack Leader

Mark joined Pup Scouts in March of 2020 but has been working with dogs since 2017. In his free time, Mark can usually be found in the gym as he used to be a strength and conditioning coach. He loves to cook and his favorite foods are wings and seafood! His favorite part about working with Pup Scouts is seeing the happy smiles and wagging tails when he comes to pick up the dogs each morning!

Pack Leader

Born and raised in Huntington Beach, Katrina grew up with dogs her whole life. She hopes to become a dog trainer in the future, hopefully in the service or therapy dog area of training. Most of my hobbies include art, studying crystals and working on behavior modification with my dog.

Pack Leader

Layla grew up in Orange County with a few family Rottweilers and has always loved dogs! Growing up, she was really into being outside and being in sports like water polo and swimming. She was originally in Cosmetology school but ultimately decided to turn her passion for dogs into her career and has been working with dogs for 3 years and counting. She started as a boarding attendant and soon started walking big packs and has never looked back since! She loves her job so much and loves being a part of Pup Scouts.

Pack Leader

Brenda has lived in California all of her life. A lover of animals she has always strived to be surrounded by them. Her love for them drove her to work with dogs and she’s been working with them for about 4 years. Through that she’s gained a passion with dog behavior and feeds her passion by watching training videos, reads books, and practices with her own pups Leia the German Shepherd and Chewie the Terrier mix. She looks up to trainers like Cesar Millan and Victoria Stilwell and  hopes to one day open up her own business in the dog world with their philosophy in mind.

Pack Leader

Even though Lilly has become an honorable crazy cat lady over the past few years now owning two kitties, Max & Dexter, she will never lose her soft spot for the sweet pups! Growing up, her family dogs included a Shih-Tzu, a few Rhodesian Ridgebacks, and an American Red Lab. In Lilly’s free time, you can catch her hanging with her hubby, teaching a Pure Barre class, or hopefully soon dancing again in a parade at Disneyland. Since Lilly no longer has any pups of her own, her favorite part about working for OC Pup Scouts is getting to hang with cute doggies all day long!
