Pup Scouts Kitchen: Frozen Summer Dog Treats

If you're anything like me, your goal is to take your dog EVERYWHERE with you! Unfortunately, that's not always possible due to these soaring summer temperatures. As summer progresses, It is essential to take extra precautions to keep your dog safe and hydrated. Luckily for you, I've got the perfect way to keep your dog cool and hydrated this summer.

What's fantastic about this recipe is it's almost effortless, doesn't require an oven, and requires minimal ingredients. My Corgi, Comet, LOVES blueberries and strawberries, so those are the fruits I chose to use in this recipe. However, you can use any dog-safe fruit. From the time I brought Comet home at 8 weeks old until now (1 year and 5 months), we frequently train using blueberries as treats! They are incredibly healthy and filled with antioxidants, not to mention they are extremely affordable compared to "real" dog treats. For this recipe, I recommend choosing bite-sized fruits or fruits that can be easily chopped into bite-sized pieces to ensure the fruit will fit into the mold!

These treats are perfect for adding to your dog's water bowl or you can give them directly out of the freezer as a snack! Your pup will get the added benefits of the fruits while also increasing their hydration with the ice.

So without further ado, let's get into this super simple frozen summer treat recipe!
